Hi guys,
I know this might be a bit off topic but seeing that a bunch of you own websites, where would the best place be to host. Someone recommended I use Blue Host<//url> for $6.95 a month which seems like a great deal. Anyone here on www.kennerdell.com using them? |

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income
Adding a tax to your retirement is another way telling the American people that you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep SQUEEZING YOU until we drain you of every last cent. Here's Pelosi's latest VERBATIM!
Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words, TAX WHAT YOU'VE MADE BY INVESTING IN YOUR RETIREMENT. This woman is a nut-case!
MADAM Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including IRA Retirement Funds, 401Ks and Mutual Funds), all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities and SIMPLETONS!
This woman is a frightening HOE!
Quote: 'WE NEED TO WORK TOWARD THE GOAL OF EQUALIZING INCOME IN OUR COUNTRY AND AT THE SAME TIME LIMIT THE AMOUNT THE RICH CAN INVEST' (I am not rich, are you -- Sounds a bit like Karl Marx, huh?)
When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied: QUOTE: 'WE NEED TO RAISE THE STANDARD OF LIVING OF OUR POOR, UNEMPLOYED AND MINORITIES. FOR EXAMPLE, WE HAVE AN ESTIMATED 12 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN OUR COUNTRY WHO NEED OUR HELP ALONG WITH MILLIONS OF UNEMPLOYED MINORITIES. STOCK MARKET WINDFALL PROFITS TAXES COULD GO A LONG WAY TO GUARANTEE THESE PEOPLE THE STANDARD OF LIVING THEY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AS " AMERICANS'! (Oh Brother!!)
My Response: TELL THESE LAZY, UNEDJIMICATED, UNMOTIVATED IDIOTS TO REMOVE THEIR NECK TATTOOS, NOSE-RINGS, NIPPLE HOOPS & CLIT-STUDS SO THAT THEY, TOO, CAN GET A GOOD JOB AT SHEETZ OR WAL-MART...EVEN SHEETZ HAS A POLICY AGAINST " VISIBLE " STUPIDITY as far as their work-force and what they want to portray to their clients! Sure, I feel sorry for THE GOOFS and the decisions they've made which has resulted in their poor employment prospects, but, that sure don't mean I'm going to pick-up their tab. SORRY, BUB, GET A FREAKIN' JOB, AND, IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD KIDS???...KEEP YOUR ZIPPERS UP!
Please Post This! No more censure!! |

| You've got to consider the macro economics here! Although I do agree, whole-heartedly, that taxation needs to be a factor, one MUST consider the trickle-down effect of the prostitution business and the fact that it has a much more profound & stimulating effect that, let's say...drug dealing. Although everything that generates income SHOULD be taxed,...let's not lose sight of the fact that prostitution should be taxed at an incrementally higher rate. The reason is simple; the guy who sells / buys crack might smoke it all up in one night...then it's all gone...forever! A prostitute, however, can sell crack, wash it up at the end of the night and then re-sell it again tomorrow. Although Mr. Pimp might disagree, (as I'd expect...considereing he's used to paying nothing)...I believe it's time that he begin making some contribution to the tax base that keeps his streets adequately paved so that his girls don't break one of their high heels. |

Dear Concerned in Kennerdell I dont know what you think you are talking about, because if we were to place a prostitute in every town then the whole country would be out of debt. In fact you are so wrong cause I have had my ladies working in Washington for years and and we are still not out of debt. You see in your example everyone breaks even, but in the real world the tax payers are the ones who actually pay for the ladies. First part of your story should be : The tax payer pays for the whores that the government uses and pays no taxes on and the tax payer who paid for them gets nothing. So once again the tax payer loses and nothing is gained and the country is still be in debt. The only one who stands to make a profit out of this is Da Pimp. |

Wall Street tells you it's the beginning of a protracted bull market and stocks look great. Don't believe it. And whatever you do, don't bet your portfolio on it.
Look beneath the surface of the so-called recovery and you'll see enough trouble brewing to make the subprime market meltdown of 2008 "look like a walk in the park." That's not just my opinion. That's the conclusion from RealtyTrac, the nation's largest foreclosure tracking firm.
We just survived the worst years in history for foreclosures, but we may not be so lucky in 2010. One Federal Reserve member just reported that commercial real estate losses could reach 45% this year. That means $1.54 trillion in commercial loans could default, sinking the markets and plunging the economy back into recession.
There's more. Option adjustable rate mortgages are teetering on the edge of the abyss, with $29 billion recast higher at the end of 2009, followed by another $67 billion in 2010. In fact, Barclays Capital says, "We expect 81% of the option ARMs originated in 2007 to default." Yet those headlines are buried while Wall Street blares out about corporate earnings that "are not as bad as expected" and "lower job loss numbers" that don't feel very low to me at roughly half a million per month. And so unsuspecting investors are grabbing up cheap stocks, spurred on by Wall Street, and giddy with thoughts of a new bull market ahead.
You're about to get a rude -- and costly -- surprise. If you continue down the path Wall Street is leading you on you could lose the other half your net worth. YOU HAVE GOT TO PLAY THIS ONE REAL SMART, OR YOU'LL BE IN AN APPLIANCE BOX UNDER THE PETROLEUM ST. BRIDGE!

I have come across a very interesting article I would like to share with all of you wonderful people. It was written by a school student, and he calls it the New School Prayer.
Now I sit me down in school Where Praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of him , very odd
If scripture now the class recites It violates the Bill of Rights And anytime my head I bow Becomes a federal matter now
Our hair can be purple, orange or green That's no offense, its a freedom scene The law is specific, the law is precise Prayers spoken aloud are a serious crime
For praying in a public hall Might offend someone with no faith at all In silence alone we must meditate God's name is prohibited by the state
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks They've outlawed guns, but first the Bible To quote the Good Book makes me liable
We can elect a pregnant senior queen And the unwed daddy, our senior king It's inappropriate to teach right from wrong We're taught that judgments dont belong
We can get our condoms and birth controls Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles But the Ten Commandments are not allowed No word of God must reach this crowd
It's scary here I must confess When chaos reigns the schools a mess So, Lord, this silent plea I make Should I be shot, My soul please take
AMEN: Shameful, Just Shameful |

It's a slow day in the small Minnesota town of Marshall, and streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody is living on credit. A rich tourist visiting the area drives through town, stops at the motel, and lays a $100 bill on the desk saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs to pick one for the night. As soon as he walks upstairs, the motel owner grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill to his supplier, the Farmer's Co-op. The guy at the Farmer's Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer her "services" on credit. The hooker rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the hotel owner. The hotel proprietor then places the $100 back on the counter so the rich traveler will not suspect anything. At that moment the traveler comes down the stairs, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, picks up the $100 bill and leaves town. No one produced anything. No one earned anything...However, the whole town is now out of debt and looks to the future with a lot more optimism. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the United States Government is conducting business today. SO SAD! |

| Dear upper Wilson Park Property Owner , First of all Wilson Park does not have a backhoe, and as far as maintenance on the road, Bring a shovel. No one in Wilson Park is responsible for maintenance of the roads. If you feel like you would like to volunteer then have at it. If you are one of the fortunate people who have a camp between the entrance and my place , then your lucky because that is all I will be plowing this year. After 11 years of plowing the park the cost of fuel and maintenance have dwindled away my funds. So maybe someone else will step up and do the plowing. Have a Wonderful New Year !!!! |

| We are planning a New Years Eve bash at our place and would like to be sure we can get in with the forecast weather and whats already in the ground. Now that Wilson Park has a backhoe, we would like to see some improvements with overall maintenance and especelly the lower road. The lower road is a BIG mess and it needs of maintenance. Although we are not on the lower road ( thank God ), we still like to cruise the park occasionally without having to drive thru mud poodles that are a feet deep. Who should I talk to for some promise that the park will be in good shape over the holiday and also in the spring when we start using our camp regularly. We try to keep our vehical clean. Thank you. |

The winner of the Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival Steeler raffle on Oct 4, 2009 based on the evening PA daily lottery number 336 was Cathy McKissick from New Castle, PA. She is a big fan and very excited to win.
I wanted to thank everyone for all of their help in selling the tickets this year. I especially wanted to thank Barb and John Varhola, Linda Lusher, Cindy Wingard, Pam, Hawkeye, and Rob Jr., and Scott Edkin. These folks sold several books and went out of their way to help me. There would be no festival without this raffle.
I also wanted to thank Mark McClymonds for donating the Steeler tickets each year. It's 100% profit minus the cost of printing the raffle tickets.
Don't forget, next year the festival will be held Saturday August 7th. We need folks to submit t-shirt designs by the end of January. Please visit www.kennerdellartsfestival.com for all the information!! |

>>>Received the following message from Kim at the Oil Regional Alliance. If you have children riding ATVs in the area would you please ask them to refrain from tearing up the parking area of the Look-Out. Kim is getting ready for a dedication & is hoping it looks good. THANKS!
Hi Scott:
I was out at the Overlook this past weekend to complete a few finishing touches, such as painting the kiosk, and installing the map on the Kennerdell Tract of the Clear Creek State Forest on the kiosk. The Overlook looked very nice on Saturday. However, when I returned on Sunday to do a few things, I noticed that it appeared 4-wheelers had been spinning circles in the parking area. The result was everything was covered in a heavy dust. I was not able to finish with some touch-up painting on the kiosk, nor put a protective coat of wax on the panels. I will try to get back out in the near future to complete this work. Please note that I do not believe the 4-wheelers are from ATV Traction.
In addition, the roof of the kiosk will be repaired in the near future.
Now that the final touches are almost complete we would like to schedule the celebration to dedicate the project. It is anticipated that the dedication will be scheduled for sometime in October. Is there any time in October that is not convenient for to attend the celebration? I will be contacting Handsome Lake Energy, ATV Traction, and other partners to check their schedule.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
As always thank you for all the hard work, you do in the up keeping of the overlook site.

Mr. Pig Hunter: If you want to see a real shame, stop by and take a look at how the local yokel has been defacing the newly installed kiosk at the Kennerdell Overlook; some of the crap that’s been written is purely sinful and the fact that they’re ripping the shingles off of its roof certainly says something about the mentality we're all dealing with here.

| hi folks, what a great festival this year, we at honeytown news now have some photos up for everyone to see. You can log in directly or through the link on kennerdellartsfestival.com and please help DEANNA GET THOSE TICKETS SOLD FOR THE CLEVELAND FOOTBALL GAME. Even in these times of tight money, lets make sure one of the foremost festivals can continue. To those commercial set ups , you had some great displays that helped and I think it did help to get your business noticed |

| The winning number for the Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival kayak was 643--based on the PA daily evening number 8-1-09. I am pleased to announce that Rob Gerlach II was the winner. Rob has been helping us redesign the web site. www.kennerdellartsfestival.com He is doing a great job. Please check it out. We hope to have a lot of pictures on there soon and maybe even some video. Thanks to everyone who bought kayak tickets. And thanks again to Rob for all the hard work (with no compensation) on the web site. We greatly appreciate it!! Oh, and thanks to Wiegel Brothers Marine and Wiegel on the Water for the kayak, paddle, and vest. |

WILSON PARK CLEAN-UP DAY FOR KENNERDELL MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL THIS SATURDAY JULY 18TH AT 9AM.
Looks like we have beer cans and fireworks to clean-up in the field as well. Thanks to the kind folks for the extra work!! We could really use some help as the festival is only a few weeks away and we haven't gotten much help with any of the other clean-up days. Please bring rakes, leaf blowers, quads, etc. Everyone who helps gets a 2009 festival t-shirt for FREE!! They are really cool too. I'd like to thank the Kennerdell Community Center folks who went up on their own a few week nights and did some cleaning/raking.
We have kayak and Steeler raffle tickets available for sale as well. This year's kayak is a hybrid canoe/kayak designed for hunting and fishing. Camo colored. Tickets are $3.00. The Steeler game is against the Browns on October 18th. Tickets are $10.00.
The web site for the festival is updated now with the music schedule and other info. Fireworks at the Kennerdell bridge after the event. www.kennerdellartsfestival.com
Hope to see lots of folks this Saturday!!! Thanks to everyone. We could also use some volunteers for the day of the event too. My contact info is on the web site.

| Hello everyone. We will be having another Wilson Park clean-up day on Saturday, June 20th 9am until ???. There is a lot of work to do before the 51st Annual Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, August 1st. We really could use any and all help to remove leaves and sticks. Even if you can just stop in for an hour or two, we would greatly appreciate it!! Please bring your gloves, rakes, leaf blowers, weed wackers, etc. As far as festival planning, we have a great day of music and art/crafts planned for everyone. Also, there will be fireworks again this year at the Kennerdell bridge at dusk courtesy of McClymonds Supply and Transit. The web site is still in the process of being updated with the music schedule, etc. www.kennerdellartsfestival.com We can also use volunteers for the event to sell raffle tickets, entrance tickets, t-shirts (we have a really cool design again this year), or to help with the chicken BBQ. We have $10 Steeler raffle tickets now for a chance at 4 Legends Club seats for Oct 18th vs the Browns. Value is $1400!! We also have $3.00 raffle tickets for a really cool camo-colored, hybrid kayak/canoe from Wiegel on the Water. It has a molded-in motor mount and battery area for a trolling motor. Great for hunting and fishing!! You also get a really nice paddle and vest. Value of package is $1050.00! Contact me or one of the Community Center folks for tickets. My email is dlm68@csonline.net Hope to see a lot of folks at the clean-up day! We provide beverages and food for the workers!! Quads and tarps work well to remove the leaves so bring your quad too. Have a great summer!! |

He elected not to post your note and I cannot disagree. With the amount of time that Mr. Leradoo spends working on various Wilson Park projects that relate to infrastructure and individual properties, it is his call as to what he wants posted with respect to Wilson Park. | Hello folks. Planning is underway for the 51st Annual Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival. This year it will be on Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 10am to 8pm. Please visit the website at www.kennerdellartsfestival.com for more info. We hope to have it updated soon. We are looking for artists, musicians, crafters, and, of course, volunteers and sponsors!! Contact info is on the website. We will have kayak and Steeler raffle tickets by the end of May. We are planning a meeting at the Kennerdell Community Center on Thursday, May 14th at 7:30pm if anyone is interested in attending. Also, we have scheduled a clean-up day at the park for Saturday, May 16th starting around 9am. We need lots of help so please spread the word. The upper part of the park needs cleared of dead branches and leaves. Bring your rakes and leaf blowers. We will reschedule if the weather is poor. T-shirts are still available from last year at a reduced cost. If interested, please send an email thru the website. We will have a new T-shirt design for this year. The fire dept. will hold their chicken BBQ at the festival. We are planning a great line-up of musicians including perhaps the original founder of the event--Eugene Reichenfeld. We hope to see a lot of you folks from Wilson Park this year on the clean-up days! Thanks to everyone for their support. |

Goober: Well said and very sorry that I agree with with you on the sad state of affairs here in the ole' IOUSA. When is the last time you tried to purchase a 30 Ot 6 bullet for your gun...or even a 9MM? I can't find them anywhere. Ruger stock price is the market's best performer...what does that tell you? Hide your guns, stock up on ammunition and bolt your doors...there is a revolution beginning to surface and it is about to get real ugly! |

"People need to be able to suggest comunity improvements if comunity improvements are expected to happen." Nothing wrong with suggesting if you are willing to help it become a reality.
"This page was really working for a while because people hear have a tendency to get real lazy, but, if they know people are watching there laxyness they might actually get up off there flab and clean upsomething..." Please post your address so we may add constructive criticism to your homestead.
"I would like to suggest that the family kitty corner from the Kennerdell bridge finish the clean up of the cat-house that is laying in there front yard for the last year. How much time could this really take. Im tired of looking at it and please finish this huge task! It might take 5 minutes. I will clean it up my self because I could use the wood. If this is OK, please put a sigh in fromt of the wood that says FREE and I will do it for you if you are to busy. Your house is the first thing people see when they cross the bridge and it is not setting a acceptable standard in my opinion." Again, please post your address so we all may assess your surroundings and see if it lives up to standards we can live with.
"We need to band together as a community and each set a standard that will make people still want to live hear and this all starts with a paint bush, rake and PICKING UP THE GARBAGE ON THE ROAD IN YOUR FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE. Scott: Thanks for your efforts and what you’ve coordinated with the ongoing renovations at the Kennerdell overlook. The informational placards are very informative and professionally done. The removal of the trees must have been a difficult task, but certainly made a world of difference by opening up the beautiful view to what I once remember it as when I was a child and introduced to Kennerdell by my parents in the early 1900’s. I am now well over 80 years old and am glad to, again, have the chance to enjoy and relive so many of the wonderful memories that I had as a child. The memory that stands out most clearly is the variety classic, antique automobiles that used to frequent the overlook (we thought they were modern at the time); I vividly remember the well-to-do older folks from Oil City coming to the lookout on Sundays. They were always dressed up so nicely. The lady-folk used to carry their brightly colored parasols and fancy, feathered hats. The men-folk wore their suits and all tried to look like Al Capone. I was just a child then and my sister and I were confined to the rumble seat of my grandfather’s car. The road was a simple one-lane dirt road at that time and I remember it was a very dusty ride. These are all memories that have recently come back to me now that I’m frequenting the lookout again; I thank you for that. We stopped coming to the lookout when Kennerdell allowed it to become a dumping ground; there were rats and many undesirables who scared us away; it was not a good place to be. Hopefully these dark days are behind us now that an outsider has taken control and shown some pride of ownership; this should have be done years ago. Keep up the good work!

Richard: Both of these gentlemen claim to have family ties to the original founder of Kennerdell and both agree that the founder was a single family member who ventured into the United States alone, many, many generations ago, leaving his entire family back in the UK. For more, please contact: John Kennerdell - This gent lives here in Pennsylvania President Sound Imaging Group, LTD. 1111 Lowry Ave Bldg. A Jeannette, PA 15644 800-243-5257
Peter Kennerdell - This gent still lives in the UK If you Google " Kennerdell UK " you will see that Peter has a website. It's interesting that they are both presidents of their respective firms.
Good Luck in your search!

| could someone please post a (deer hunting time table) for those of us who dont hunt and use the trails? i was talking to a local guy and he said that we cant ride the trails till april. the first deer season is over which is bow. then comes gun . cant shoot anything with less than 4 horns. is this correct? how can anyone shoot, let alone see a deer running away from them 150 yards away with a half bottle of jack in them. he then said its muzzleloader season. then after that is deer trapping season, cant set a deer trap no more than 30 ft from its den.then after 3 days rest for the hunters to re-group,(sober up a bit) comes poison dart and blow gun season. you have to be no more than 4ft high and have a bone in your nose to obtain a licence which is b.s in my opinion. from jan to april is (just run after a deer and see if you can tackle it and stab it) season.so any way ,please tell us when the carnage is over and we can ride again |

The winner of the four Steeler tickets for the Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival raffle on Sunday Nov. 30, 2008 was Kevin Kieffer. The winning number based on the evening daily lottery was 246. Bob and Pam Gerlach sold the winning ticket.
I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to sell all of the tickets. A few extra thanks go to Kathy Francis, Bob and Pam Gerlach, Michelle Yanssens, and Bernadette MacDonald. They really made a big effort.
I would also like to thank McClymonds Supply and Transit Co. for donating the tickets for the game. The raffle was 100% profit for the festival and the biggest fundraiser of the event.
Planning will soon begin for the 51st festival on Aug 1, 2009. We will need more volunteers for park clean-up in the spring and summer. Also, we really need folks who would like to help the day of the festival. Please visit www.kennerdellartsfestival.com for information. In addition, we are accepting designs for this year's t-shirt. The winning design gets $100!! Merry Christmas!! |

| My dear Sherlock, First of all,Why are you dragging the Brantners into this,They have nothing to do with this. Now lets get down to business. It started with a simple discussion about orbs, and then you decided to add your brilliant IQ ( pfft ) into it and now your talking as if you are smoking crack or something. I think you are a coward, for you stated that you were coming by over the weekend to observe these orbs for yourself and you never showed, let the truth be known. I pretty much figured you were probably stuck in your hip waders in your own yard of BS. Your really showing us all your HIGH IQ. Well your not going to drag us into your pit of sludge or whatever you want to call it, so take care and be careful of what you eat, for it just may be something you produced. |

My dear Watson, or baby Watson, Trust me, my IQ is higher than you can count with the help of all your digits. What exactly is "my duo"? I have never met a Watson who knew what he/she was talking about. Please introduce me if you know of one. No BS on my shoes as I deftly dance around your yard. I've been fixxin' to tell you, it gets mighty deep in your yard, regardless of the time of year.
You needn't use any optics to see me, and if you had said optics, you certainly wouldn't see any BS from my mouth. Nothing but the truth! I realize the truth hurts, so I will leave the Brantners out of this discussion.
Good luck with the orb study. Barrack Hussein O-bomber will probably find a cabinet position for you to use up the money he confiscated from me. |

Dear Sherlock,How High is your IQ exactly? My Father is the one in your duo that has a letter D and a letter R In Front of his name so I think it's Safe to say he knows what he is talking about. If you come here often then like the rest of us you have plenty of that BS that you speak of on the bottom of your shoes, It tends to get mighty deep around here during the winter months. but it seems to me upon looking at you with my magnifying glass you also have some of those pesky BS particles Coming out of your Mouth so here's a wet nap to wipe that off... Now be quiet and let my father get back to his investigation of His orbs
Sincerely,
Dr. Watson JR.

My Dear Sherlock, It appears you have given up on investigating. I would like to propose an invite for you to capture your own orbs. You should bring your digital camera to the homestead some evening and snap a few orbs of your own. I have for some reason over a hundred orbs who seem to like to hang out here. Male or Female ? I dont know, I have never seen one naked. They are not in my head , They are on my camera and a few of my frinds have them on their cameras also. So feel free to stop in and check them out for yourself. |

!!!!!!!Orbs In Kennerdell!!!!!!! I have been amazed and confused about the orbs that are located around my front yard. I was snapping pictures of the sunset over the rooftop of our home and ( Poof ! ) there they were, three at first and then I turned to the south and snapped another and (Poof!) there they were about 30 of them. I ran directly to the internet to do some reseach on these orbs and what I discovered was the pictures of the orbs were the same as I had on my camera. I thought I would share this with everyone and maybe someone else has snapped a few orbs in or around the Kennerdell area. My belief is that these are the Indian spirits of long ago. |

The Kennerdell Arts Festival was a GREAT SUCCESS ,and the weather couldn't have been nicer.I feel so lucky to live here in this village. To have so many people in our community to help out for the festival, was great. The support that this small village has is amazeing! Thank everyone for their support and donations ,weather it was money or your valuable time. Volunteering is a thankless job,but it makes you a better person. The Kennerdell Community Center has "Fund Raisers" year around. All moneies goes towards upkeep of buildings, maintaince of FIRE TRUCKS,paying for trucks and maybe some improvments. The calendar of events is as follows: SEPT. 20 THE BEST CHICKEN B-B-Q is at the firehall serving 4:00 to 7:00 dinnerincludes 1/2 chicken, baked potato, colslaw, roll drink and HOMEMADE PIE cost only $7.50

Well,I'd like to say thank you to the people who put the Kennerdell Music and Arts festival 2008 together.I must say,it was a fine event. With the VFD running out of food,it shows more attended than were expected. The arts and crafts were very nice and the music even better.Ol' Goober was a dancin' and a prancin' to the fine music all day long. The crowd was a rockin' and a rollin' quite nice too.My cousin Phineas Finchley and his wife Phoebe came in from the east end of the state for the event and hope to see it next year.Again, thank all you hard working people for a five star event. | The Kennerdell Community Center will be preparing food items for the 50th Annual Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival at the firehall on the evening of Thursday, July 30th. It always seems to be the same people who work really hard to make the community safer and nicer to live. Lets give them a hand!! Don't forget, the chicken BBQ helps make money to support the fire and rescue service that you may need someday. If you have an hour or so to spare on Thursday evening, please stop on down to the firehall and help scrub potatoes, wrap silverware, etc. The more people who help, the quicker it gets done. There are 350 chickens that will be cooked on Saturday. That's 350 baked potatoes to scrub and 350 silverware sets that need wrapped. Also, we need help with the pies for the dinners. We will need 350 pieces of pie too!! If you would like to donate a pie, contact one of the Community Center members or get it to the park early Saturday morning. In addition, if you want to volunteer for the day of the festival, we could use your help even if for an hour or so. We need relief people, help making sure the garbage cans are managed, assistance with the kids activities, and lots of other tasks. If you have always wanted to participate in your community but have never done so, now is the time!! We could still use some Chinese auction prizes so if you have anything to offer through a business or a personal donation, please go to the website for the contact info. www.kennerdellartsfestival.com We are also accepting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the food bank in Seneca. Please bring old but clean towels and blankets, dog/puppy or cat/kitten food for the Venango County Humane Society too. One last thing, if it rains on Saturday, the rain date is the next day, Sunday Aug 3rd. We will be up at the park off and on throughout the day on Friday and early Saturday so if you want to help, just show up. Thanks in advance for your help. |

| Hello everyone. Just a quick reminder that the 50th Annual Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival will take place this coming Saturday, Aug 2nd from 10am to 8pm in Wilson Park. We've been working really hard and we have a great day planned full of music, art, crafters, and kid's activities. The website is up and running now with lots of information including the full music schedule. www.kennerdellartsfestival.com Fireworks are scheduled to be set off on the river by Marlowe's campground around 9:30pm. The Community Center folks are providing all of the food--chicken BBQ (only 350 being made so get there early), hotdogs, sloppy joes, nachos, etc. Artists and crafters can still register up until the morning of the event. We are raffling a kayak which will be on display at the festival. We have a great Steeler raffle too but those tickets are going quick so hurry!! We will also have a 50/50 and a chinese auction with some nice prizes. Cost of admission is only $3.00 for adults and kids over 16. No parking fee. Everyone who pays the $3.00 to enter, gets a free chance at a pair of Monday night Steeler tickets for the Ravens game on Sept 29th. A parking pass is included. The winning ticket will be drawn the day of the festival. We hope you will come out and support our efforts over the past few months. Thanks again to everyone who helped make it possible. |

| There are also several services out of Franklin that handle the Franklin - Kennerdell route...they will drop you off and then pick you up at a predetermined time just down stream of the bridge in Kennerdell. There are also several other companies that handle the "upper Allegheny" routes and will arrange for drop-offs in either Tionesta or President and then pick you back up at the Arlington Hotel in Oil City. I've done many of the routes and they are all very nice, but, if you ask me for my opinion, I would say that the Kennerdell to Emlenton route is the most boring. Google it and you should come up with some phone numbers to contact. |

I just wanted to thank all of the wonderful folks who came to help in Wilson Park on June 13th. Even though it was raining, they showed up in pretty good numbers with ATVs/carts, rakes, blowers, tractors, etc. We got a lot accomplished and had a fun day. People really worked hard.
There is still lots to do and the next clean-up day will be July 12th. Please help if you can. Bring rakes, blowers, buckets, etc. The buildings need cleaned and we have some painting to do as well. Most of the work involves removing sticks and leaves. The park has not been maintained in several years.
Most of the people who helped yesterday were members of the ATV Traction group. They are too numerous to mention all of them but I'd like to thank Scott Vogel for getting them all together. Also, we had a few Kennerdell folks--Pastor Bobbie's husband Ray, Charlene Myers and Chase, Ann Parys, Kathy Francis, Chuck Vernam, and Mark McClymonds. We also had Marilyn Black from the Oil Region Alliance. I hope I didn't leave anyone out.
I want to thank my wonderful Mom, Mary Miller, for making most of the food. John Janacone with the ATV traction and a South Tunnel fellow, gave a $50 donation. Again, thanks so much to everyone who is helping me to bring back the Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival on August 2nd.

Hello folks. We are having a clean-up day at Wilson Park this Saturday, June 14th. Starts at 8am. Please spread the word and if anyone can volunteer for the day, we could use your help. This was a last minute plan with the ATV Traction group as the original date of July 12 was in conflict with an important board meeting. We will still do the July 12 day if it doesn't all get completed this Saturday. Please bring rakes, etc. I am trying to arrange for coffee from the Community Center. I will get some bagels/cream cheese as well. There will be some sort of sandwich material. If anyone wants to bring cookies, covered dishes, etc., that would be appreciated. There will be water and pop too. Most of the work involves raking leaves, making sure the paths are clear, and cleaning and repairing the buildings.
Plans are moving along well for the Festival and we are hoping lots of folks come out on August 2nd to enjoy the music and art/crafts. If anyone is interested in a table or entering art/playing music, please give me a call. My cell is 412-780-7637. We are selling raffle tickets for a kayak too. I will have those with me at the clean-up day. They are $2.00 each. Of course, we are also accepting donations. There is an account now and checks can be made out to "Kennerdell Arts Festival". We have had some generous donations from a few folks already. Also, we could use donations for a chinese auction so if you have a business and can do a gift certificate or donate items, that would be terrific. Items can be dropped off here at the house or contact one of the Community Center folks.
Again, please spread the word about this Saturday as it is last minute and there is not much time to organize a big group. Thanks in advance for all of your help!!! |

| Being from the South Tunnel side and after reading all the crap posted over the winter months about the mess in Kennerdell, I finally had a chance to take a drive down North Tunnel Road this weekend. Kennerdell-North has never looked so good! I saw nice improvements on the church grounds, great looking lots near the tunnel’s north end, junk piles removed, many home improvements, landscaping and building everywhere I looked. There continues to be many major improvements taking place every year and everywhere in Kennerdell and it looks like the community is off to another great start for the building season of 2008. Keep up the good work and forget about the jealous bastards that want your river frontage at 1950’s prices. |

To Bill: The observations that I made concerning your first post were observations I considered valid at the time. Perhaps with a tad more digesting of said post my conclusion may not have been so decisive.
I can see now from your second post that I was off base concerning your expressed views. I like you detest censorship but as you have alluded to it was a necessary evil in order to take control of the contemptible content that was consuming this forum.
Point taken about “thorn in my side and hectic day” they were my interjections garner from a perceived notion.
Perhaps if I ever make the 1,100 mile trek from Florida to Kennerdell we can go fishing. |

| Dear Archy, I never mentioned the rights of the owner of this forum, of course he can do what he wishes, it's his site! I also understand the motives of censoring by the owner. There are some lowlifes lurking here. Further, I never said or alluded to censorship being a thorn in my side. I was pointing out that some folks are thankful for censorship. I can obviously live with censorship on a web page. I just don't understand how a thinking American can praise it. I, for one, will always prefer freedom. BTW Arch, my day wasn't/isn't hectic. |

| Morning Archy >>> Although definitely not pro-censorship and not totally sure it was the right decision, there were many fine folks of Kennerdell who believed that certain topics and issues were getting out-of-hand, posted anonymously and in a manner that attempted to embarrass the community and to “drive wedges” between neighbors and neighborhoods, etc. This blog will remain “lightly” censured, and now that the issue has been brought to light, hopefully there will be no need to censure anything. We’d like to see postings that are fair, objective, constructive and factual, because these types of anonymous Internet blogs always opens the door for lies, half-truths and venomous gossip, most of which was written to piss-off Kennerdell residents and the many hard-working people who’ve dedicated countless hours, sweat, thought & money to make it a desirable place to live. Kennerdell is a unique place to live and visit; hopefully you’ll agree that it’s unproductive to cast Kennerdell in a light that’s anything less that what it truly is. |

To Bill: I am also an observer. On this form you have expounded about your concerns with censored material with authority and passion and for this you should be commended. However the host of this form has the right to censor any material he deems distasteful. With that in mind why would you take the time out of your hectic day to read this form if censorship is such a thorn in your side?

Dear Just an Observer, I too am an observer. I don't wish to slit your throat or build you up. I think someone needs to wake you up! You thank the page hosts for censorship, but obviously read it anyway. I don't like censorship or cowards anonamously taking shots at others via this web page. I am however an adult living in a free country and don't want or need someone censoring the information I digest. Hopefully someone(Al Gore?) can provide you, as you wish, with an internet that does your thinking/censoring for you. For the rest of us, please don't do our thinking for us. Have a nice day and be sure to surf by the Libertarian Party's website.

| Funny to me how the page has gone dead since the censurship of the stupid & ultra-critical posts began; thanks, by the way! Although I think the censurship needed to be done, it's a true testimonial to human nature, in that it's now very apparent that people would much rather slit each other's throats than to build each other up. The United States & the World are in a very bad state and getting worse. Regardless, let's all do what we can to make Kennerdell a desireable place to live; it's an amazing community and getting better every year. |

To those who are vandalizing Wilson Park: It was just brought to my attention that someone has be vandalinzing and destroying a valuable asset to this community. Someone has been stealing picnic tables, tore the door off of a shed, caused damaged to the stage and much more. This is being done at the Community owned park in Wilson Park. If anyone knows who is doing this or has any more info please contact me or the State Police. Also I would like to ask everyone to keep an eye on the park. This year (with the great efforts of some wonderful local folks the Kennerdell Arts and Music Festival is coming back!!! Lets hope and pray that a few don't destroy the park in the meantime. |

I’ve been around the world and throughout the entire United States on many occasions. I've never seen a place that is more beautiful than Kennerdell and this same endorsement has been made by many of my well-traveled friends who visit. Yes, there are places that are AS beautiful, but none MORE beautiful than Kennerdell. The community is dealing with “sour grapes”; posted by a select few who are hell-bent to trash the community over a chronic jealousy that they hadn’t the foresight to invest when the times were opportune. As far as property values are concerned, you can’t blame those who have made large investments of time, money and sweat for reaping the gains that come when property values increase as a direct result of their efforts…remember one thing…their contributions toward the appreciation of their land values have also appreciate YOUR land…assuming you were smart enough to have invested in the community when prices were low! Take a look around the states…property values in Kennerdell are still well-below all national averages, so, these trashers still have time to make a move if they’re able to get that big thing they’re all sitting on up off of the couch. I predict that Kennerdell property values are going to go thru-the-roof within the next 10 years; the Baby Boomers are coming soon, they’ll bring their money and they’re not going to be interested or concerned with where they can work; they’ll not be concerned with what they have to pay for a piece of river-frontage; Kennerdell will become a “ retirement / bedroom community “ and local jobs will not be important…the jobs are NOT COMING BACK and that’s OK with me. Just take a look at the improvements that have been made in recent years and you’ll get a “ flavor for the good things to come “…it’s just beginning! If you want to participate, then fine!...if not, then that’s fine, too…just don’t hold it against those who have a plan and stick by it. Get you butts up off the couch!!

| Please let me say that I am not endorsing the over all censorship of this page, and of the people who contribute to it. It is that lately there has been a lot of senseless posts, by folks who will not list their name. The way I see it if I am going to say something I will be proud enough to put my name to it and not hide behind a false name or alas. Again let me say that we have a wonderful community to be proud of even with our faults. |

While it may be refreshing for some who seem overly concerned with property values and possible future sales of said property in the area, hiding the communities 'dark side' through censorship is falsely portraying that communities appearance. Many subjects were broached on this forum that indeed should be fixed as a community.Hiding them in the closet is no way to grow healthy as a family or community. Thank you for the opportunity to speak out. ML |

Scott and Cindy, Thank you for taking this diffucult step concerning some of the posts. It is sad that steps like this sometimes need to be made. This effort will portray our community in a positive aspect and not allow the actions of a few to set the example. God has blessed us with a wonderful community and we should be thankful. |

Hi Everyone- Our family just received a flag in memory of Bob that was flown in Iraq on Feb 3 2008. Needless to say we were very proud to get it. The young man who sent it to us is a local Kennerdell "boy" who graduated (Cranberry High School) with my son Bob. This is his third tour in Iraq plus one in the Gulf War. I got to thinking that it would be nice if anyone wanted to send him a card, goodie box, etc to thank him for his service to this country. His address is SFC William Borton HHB2-320th FAR 1BCT 101st ABN DIV AASLT LSA ANACONDA APO AE 09391
Pass this on to anyone who might want it. Support our TROOPS!!

A FRESH START !! Although always firm believers in Rights to Free Speech, we’re also believers in “fair-play“ and assuring that this website meets its intended goals & purpose, that being…a positive portrayal of the fine community of Kennerdell. Given the barrage of “anonymous“ negative postings which have gotten out-of-hand in recent months, we’ll now screen each message for disruptive, inflammatory content that’s posted by ANONYMOUS parties. If you’ve got something neutral > positive to add to the page, it will always be posted, even under an anonymous title. If you’ve got something negative that you want to write, then please write and then post your name ( First Name / Last Initial OK ) with a VALID e-ddress. We don’t see a problem with highlighting issues that might be perceived as negative by some, but it’s only fair that the originator of these comments be listed such that resolution can be directed to the proper parties. Hopefully we’re all off to another “ summer of progress “ in Kennerdell; we see too many good things happening all around the community to allow continuation of the negativity that has, unfortunately, become the norm on this page. It was suggested that the Community Page be dropped from the website, so, we’re going to take this interim first step as a means avoiding the next. Like the old saying goes…if you don’t have anything positive to say, don’t say it! Have a Great Summer Season!!

| Your best best would be to contact ATVtraction at www.atvtraction.org for all trail, location & membership details. I believe Scott S. also has maps available that cover Misty Ridge, however, Misty Ridge is only a small portion of the acreage our group controls in the Kennerdell area. There is a map of the Misty Ridge trails on this website ( see Perimeter Survey page ). Hope this helps! |

| dear (hunting for goober). I can explain the whole thing about goober . It started in a little town in mayberry SC. goober owned a small gas station out of town. he really didnt make much money . he was treated like a real idiot back then. well, this ticked him off big time ! he tried to get some help from his brother but he was busy pissing off sgt carter. barney got promoted to detective in L.A. andy had enough of goober so he told barney to just grab goober, through his ass in the car, and drop him off somewhere were he can find his way back home. barney,( heading to LA) was traveling on rt 80, stopped to make sure that he had not lost the 1 bullet that andy gave him. pulled onto rt 8, thew goobers ass out! goober, somehow found his way into kennerdell , never accomplished much, but still living here. no one has seen him or talked to him but we feel his presence. |

| Rozanne>>>Thanks for the heads up; we’d had a huge problem with Viagra, Porn and other forms of Auto-Spam coming into this site from both foreign countries and domestically until we installed the appropriate filters. If you fine tune your “ settings “ and establish proper firewall parameters…it will go away. We’ve had no further issues since installing them. The reason that we do not have any “ Real “ direct links to us within the website is another means of Spam control. If you take a look at our Home Page, you’ll note that our e-ddress is expressed as " scottsat(use @)kennerdelldot(use.)com "…this is the best way to express an e-ddress on a web-page if you want to fool the web-crawlers & spiders that cruise The Web to collect e-mail address from the Internet for the purposes of building Spam distribution lists. |

FYI to the Kennerdell Website, people are robbing your website name to send spam mails about Viagra. and example is someone used my name to send to me rozanne@kennerdell.com. I've never been to this website before.
As there is no real direct link to the webmasters this is the best way to advise you.

| Heart in KD: What a breath of fresh air...good points and insite; something neutral > positive for a change! We truly can conquer all problems if we work together as a community and KD is a great place and I believe it will remain so. |
|
Posted by: Heart in KD
Time/date: 3/7/2008 3:18:50 PM |
| I’ve been coming to KD all my life and most of the people have been friendly and I think of as family. Of course there is always some grumpy person around and when they pass or move on another one takes his place. Sometime I think the seller makes sure the person is nasty, “Only cantankerous people aloud”. KD’s always been a hodgepodge of higher quality homes and low-cost and low-maintenances, drunkards singing loud into the night and God fearing folk praying in the morning, fisherman, hunters, motorcyclist and naturalist. We all have our own ideas about what KD is, but one thing is certain it’s a place that has captured our hearts. It’s a place we like to go and do our own thing. It’s sometimes hard to see changes taking place like the state park, bike trail and the ATV group. I have a hang up with all these groups for the same reason. It limited my freedom to roam the mountainside. But what choice do we have in life but to except the changes that occur and try to find the positive. Across the river is safe from development as with the other land that has been purchased by rails to trails and ATV. A lot of you people come from places that have zoning and orderdences. Is that what KD is coming to? If you wait long enough people that own the run down places will move on and some one will come in a build a bigger and better place. The drunks will get old and mellow out. Get to know your neighbors and who owns what. If you see a squatter or litterbug, confront them and tell them your going to inform the landowners and or authorities. That’s how it used to be. As a kid we couldn’t make it back home before a neighbor told on us when we did something wrong via telephone or driving down to see our parents. Get your neighbors back and get busy helping each other instead of gripping. Have you thought of using this sight for a place to brainstorm for solutions for your problems? Good luck! Yea this is all over the map. |

My family and friends now consider kennerdell our second home on the weekends. We stay at the man from Chicago's kamp and had nothing but the best time with him and and his family. The guy has went to all measures to make our stay here enjoyable. We were total stangers when we came here but he and his wife opened there arms like other local people and made us feel welcome. Unlike the crappy people i have to deal with in youngstown,I'll trade your little bitches and cryers any day !! The folks on the hill have brought us a great escape on the weekends, everv weekend, they are great hosts and we can't wait to be back in april dammit!!! |

We’ve been reading the community page with great interest and ATVtraction would be happy to assist in a major cleanup effort and beautification of downtown Kennerdell and North Tunnel Road. We’ve played a roll in managing your litter along the highway and, now that we have it under control, we would be happy to lend a hand at cleaning up some of the mess along North Tunnel. Although we’d like to see some participation and approval by the townsfolk, we’d be happy to bring our team in and do the job for you. We believe you have much unrealized potential in your beautiful community, but we believe something radical needs to be done to bring the standards up to some acceptable level of aesthetic appeal. A few things we’d suggest in order to reduce the mess: - Centralize boat and dock storage to a designated area and keep the roadway and river view clear - Remove rusted steel junkpiles and miscellaneous debris that’s laying around - Clean-up the smoldering toxic burning pile in front of Mr. & Mrs. ? log cabin; big eyesore…bigger nose sore when burning. We’re not sure who owns it. - Remove all construction cones and unused construction materials from edge of roadside - Work with homeowners to clean up junk on porches and assist in preparing for spring garage sale; residue could be removed and discarded - Remove and recycle junk RVs and vehicles; we have a dump truck and could recycle much of this material for profit - Camouflage, relocate or recycle the gas-pipe mess - Remove / relocate all the miscellaneous 55 gallon drums We have a number of other ideas that we’d be happy to discuss if you would like to take us up on our offer of getting involved. You will be happy with the improvements. Please get in touch with us as we are looking for a meaningful springtime project that will demonstrate our value and environmental focus.

| Anyone looking to settle in Kennerdell should consider South Tunnel Rd. (turn right off of bridge after crossing into Kennerdell). We live in a completely different world over here and the value of our real estate is much higher than the average shack on North Tunnel Rd. We have sun all winter long, whereas most of North Tunnel never sees the sun from September until late April; North Tunnel is absolutely frigid ALL WINTER LONG! Our wintertime temperatures are always at least 10 degrees warmer than the permafrost tundra typical of North Tunnel Rd. Our road is maintained much better due to the fact that it does not see the continuous freeze / thaw cycles that are typical of North Tunnel Rd. or the persistently rude ATVers buzzing back and forth 9 month / year (we’ve welded an impenetrable gate at the southeast end DEAD END – SO SORRY CHARLIE!!). We do not have nearly the number of hovels, outdated RVs, trailer trash, double-wides, docks, pontoons, taverns, drunks and junks that are strewn everywhere along North Tunnel Rd. AND, we don’t have to look at that industrial stockpile of piping and antique industrial drilling equipment every time we drive down our road. We also do not have a boat launch that clogs the road with outsiders all summer long. South Tunnel Rd. has attracted some high value homes over the past 10 years that will never come to North Tunnel Rd. where they have a tendency of playing “musical trailers”, moving them around every other year. When we sell a hovel on South Tunnel Rd., it is razed and replaced by a half-million $ home. People also respect the right-of-way and do not block it or attempt to control who comes in & out. We are able to do this because most of us have ample parking which is a major consideration as far as your real estate value. Most importantly, we respect the evening “quite time” and don’t have to listen to some Chimpanzee banging on some drum-set until 4 in the morning. Check us out!! |

Smelly: I’m happy to be part of a group that have been members of the Misty Ridge hunting club for several years and we’re glad to have the chance to participate, without being overrun by hordes of local yokels like you. Based on your negative BS, you’ve apparently been bred to view everything you see as your private and personal domain; always looking for a new potential dump-site, huh? We’re glad that Misty Ridge is a private club and not just another one of your Pennsylvania entitlement programs, so, you’re going to have to deal with it. In case you’ve not noticed, Pennsylvania has become a welfare state and it’s your type of mentality that’s sown these seeds which will lead to your imminent future financial failure and the failure of those who subscribe to your negativity. You’ve allowed these seeds to take root, now, over many generations, and, where has it gotten you? You, my friend, are in need of a change in your personal philosophy, and, we’re here to help!
We, as newcomers and owner / builders of summer homes and retirement homes, throughout Kennerdell, are changing how things will be done in the future. I ask you, Mister Stink, what’s been your contribution to this community that you claim “will be forever in your heart”; maybe some rotted out trailer or a dilapidated, moss covered hovel that scares potential buyers away from Kennerdell who have the money to invest that will lead to your and your neighbor’s property appreciation? A lot of us are sick and tired of all the junkers who have trashed Kennerdell and then sit on their tuffets and wait for someone else to clean up the mess; just look around, my friend! Do you like what you see? Just take a look out your window and then get up off that big thing that you sit on all day, get yourself motivated, and make some kind of an improvement…or get out of here.

Dear GROW UP AND SMELL, I know you said you would not be back to this website, However I have a feeling you will. And if you decide to come back , READ THIS !!! The property owners in the Kennerdell area are happy and proud of what we have here. As far as your statement about Misty Ridge, you have no idea of what Scott has done to improve this area to keep it beautiful and from becoming a commercial wasteland. When I read your post , the only assumption that I could come up with is pure jealousy. I think I speak for all the wonderful people in Kennerdell. As far as people using this page to complain on, um, that would make you a hypocrite. For you also complained here. So the end result would be that your simply a " JEALOUS HYPOCRITE " and you probably should not move in or around the Kennerdell area. Best of Luck where ever you go. But please just GO!!! |

Mr. Grow Up & Smell >>>>> It’s important to every Kennerdell land owner who has expended the effort to add value to their properties, that their properties have actually appreciated in price over the years and I’m not offering YOU any apologies that our time, sweat & efforts may have played a small roll in what’s taken place with respect to land values. Perhaps it’s due to my Chicagoland upbringing that I see beauty, opportunity and limitless potential within the Kennerdell community that so many take for granted. I believe that Kennerdell has the uniqueness to take advantage of the “ once in a lifetime - mass exodus “ of the baby-boomers from the crowded cities and we’re doing what we need to do to prepare for it…are you? I also see a whole bunch of anonymous posters who would rather tear down this community rather than build it up. What I see in Kennerdell is certainly better than what I see occurring in Oil City, Franklin and most other local communities caught up in the urban Appalachian “ blight-of-the-do-little “…I suppose you’d prefer depreciation? I’m truly heart-broken that you’ve missed the boat in Kennerdell, but it may not be too late! I’d suggest that you get yourself a ticket for the next departure and, this time, make sure that you arrive at the platform on time; no one is waiting around for you to get up off your couch.
As far as your comment regarding our website and that we should go back to where we came from…SORRY BUB, but we’re here to stay and, please don’t make the mistake of confusing me with someone who owes you something!

Dear Dr. Phil I have decided to come back home because your never around when I need you. I was lying on your couch for the last couple of weeks , waiting for you but you never showed. By the way, Your out of beer and those vintage playboy books, I had to use for pooper paper because the mice took yours. And I think you will probably need to bring a big plunger to get it working again. From the postings I have been reading here, I think your gonna need a bigger couch. Please Dr. Phil , Get back here soon. Our town is falling to pieces and we need some of your expert advice to keep it together. Shall we gather at the river ? I'll be singing He'll be coming round the mountain till you get here. Take Care and HURRY !!!! Trivia Question ! Outside Peg and Dukes store there was a soda machine and in it was what kind of Rootbeer ? I think I have the only bottle left. |

| Please permit me to answer the post about "What Does Kennerdell Want To Be?" Seems to me you were only looking at the outside of Kennerdell. Won't you try and spend time with the PEOPLE of Kennerdell and then rethink your opinion. The folks who have lived here, worked hard here and raised their families here are better than your judgment of who they are. It's so true that man looks on the outside but God looks on the heart. These folks have wonderful hearts as they care about one another and help when there's a need. It's a small community that is wondering what is happening to the quiet, serene and safe place it once was. I think you would truly enjoy the spirit that embodies the "river folk" if you can look beyond what you can see! Blessings to you, Pastor Bobbie |

| You get a few bad apples{in this case town drunks} in every bunch.I hear Brady has a few of them too.Kennerdell is a very nice place to live.Sure we have some problems from time to time.Who doesnt? We moved here from the Sharon area and will never move back. The way people are here is so much different than the way they are in towns. We have made good friends with our neighbors and the people in Kennerdell. We all look out for one another and help each other out.It sure wasnt like that when we lived in town.I would not classify myself as a kenerdellian I am just a happy homeowner in the small community of Kennerdell.I think you would be happy or just as happy buying a parcel of land here as you would be anywhere else. |

| I've been coming to this area with my family for 50 years, recently we purchased a camp. After reading the last post I'm appalled at what I'm hearing, that is the most unfortunate thing to happen to a family.I agree with rick and Dr.Phil this community does need to come together to make Kennerdell a more friendly and inviting place.Take a drive along the roads and try to remember what the area used to look like and what it stood for.Now I'm not saying all negative things about the area, I'm just saying there is room for improvement!I believe if you want to take a walk to enjoy the sights or a drive for that matter ,you should be able too.So to answer Dr. Phil, you do have some sane neighbors that enjoy doing the same things we all come here to do, relax, unwind, and appreciate what god has given us. |

Mountain-Side Mama With A Gun!!, In response to your question about kennerdell.org, My wife was the person who maintained that site for a few years. We did have quite a few visitors, and did have some historical photos, as well of photos from community events on the site. The site was paid for by the Kennerdell Community Center, and maintained by my wife. As I am sure you can appreciate, our lives got quite busy with her going to school full time, and working, and myself working long days, and sometimes weekends. We then bought a new house, in Kennerdell, and had a baby, and as I am sure you know, family comes first. We had to prioritize, and we were not able to do as much as we used to. There has been some discussion recently about somebody else wanting to start that site up again, and maintaining it. My wife also talked about wanting to do it again also, but right now she/we are not able to commit the time needed.

Has Mrs. Local responded to your request for the historic pictures? Please keep us informed. I ( and I believe I speak for the vast majority ) want to see our community’s website expand in content. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE HISTORIC PHOTOS OF KENNERDELL INCLUDED, but, it’s my feeling that if you’re looking for a contribution from the locals, I would not hold your breath! We should all do our part to improve and promote Kennerdell and its website, to the mutual benefit of all residents and land owners. I am also very pleased that we all have a voice through the Community Page of kennerdell.com, and that the facts and the exposure of those who regularly show inconsiderate, rude, late-night behavior has finally been brought into focus and up for discussion. Although I’ve seen major improvements over the past 10+ years in certain areas, the Kennerdell community is still in need of MAJOR CHANGE and it will not begin until there is dedicated involvement by more than a just a few tireless workers; we all need to get involved! Didn’t the Kennerdell Community have their own website? Was it not www.kennerdell.org? What happened to it and why is it not on-line anymore? I see that Misty Ridge’s www.kennerdell.com was actually promoting the .org competition and, now, when I type the .org site into my browser, the only thing that comes up is .com’s promotion of .org? Who dropped the ball, and why? Let me guess; too much work and not enough drive to get up off the couch? Did I hit the nail on the head again? Regardless, we’ll stick with .com; it’s very professionally done and we LOVE the Community Page because it humorous, informative and rings as true as a bell to what I personally see going on. We need a change and I can see excellent changes on the horizon; let’s all give the community a chance to mature under new leadership and let’s not bury the truth for the sake of promoting a community that needs to pull itself out of the stone-age.

| After reading some of what is on this page, I am amazed at how so much of the "Positive Kennerdell" is not discussed. But then so many of us do not see the positive as the negative is so visible and more entertaining or so its thought! We have a resident from Kennerdell who will be 99 yrs old next month. Think about sending her a card. Laveina Sines, The Caring Place, 103 N 13th St., Franklin, Pa. 16323. Her birthday is Feb. 25. She's sharp as a tack and has only positive things to say about the Kennerdell she loves so much. Julia Myers is another Kennerdell treasure who loves to discuss what Kennerdell has been. That is the key to why we can enjoy the beauty of the place now. Her son Charlie, has worked very hard to keep this community safe and sound for us to enjoy. It might just feel good for you to say "thank you" to these folks for what they stand for. I know it's easier to tear down than it is to build up but what do you have left when you do that? Someone wrote, it's a new year; the old is over and done. Let it go and try to do something new for yourself and our community....fly like an eagle and things just might look different to you! Happy New Year! |

Message to Ruth McMillin >>> I contacted John regarding your inquiry and he referred to you as " Aunt Ruth ", so, I think he knows you and he said he would make contact with you. He is related to the family that has the old McMillin Cemetery here in Kennerdell, so it sounds like a " sure thing " that there is a relationship with you, as well. Please try to make contact with John...I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from & touch base with a long-lost relative.
Congats on making it to 88! Cindy & I wish you a very Merry Christmas and we hope that you have another 88 good years ahead of you. |

Rick...there is a brand new Holiday Inn Express in Cranberry behind the mall and there are several more hotel options at the I-80 / Rt 8 interchange. The I-80 / Rt 8 options are closer to where the party is going to be held.

Responding to Ruth McMillin Cunningham>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ruth, I know where the cemetery is. It was partially on property that we previously owned ( and have since sold ) and partially on property now owned by Jim Schry...the farmer next door. The folks we sold the property to have made improvements to the cemetery by erecting a decorative fence and have done a nice job. I'm not sure as to the history, but there is a gentleman by the name of John R. ( Jack ) McMillin who is the Controler of Butler County, here in NW Pennsylvania who is the great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandson of the original settlers. I met this man at the Kennerdell Look-Out in August who was searching for the cemetery. If you are looking to make contact with him his details are as follows. John McMillin, County of Butler, PO Box 1208, Butler, PA 16003-1208. His phone number is (724) 284-5131 and his e-mail is jmcmilli@co.butler.pa.us. I'm sure John would be happy to speak with you. Just as an FYI...it is suspected that there was a body dug-up & stolen from your cemetery many years ago...the hole is still plainly visible. There was an investigation, but no one was apprehended. They were probably looking for Civil War relics. Anyway,...I hope this helps and GOOD LUCK in tracking down your roots!!! Rick: I should have mention it to you, but, I knew there would be more people than we really needed...which has always been the case. The ATVtraction guys have got a plan and put it into action...Bingo, Bango, Bongo...it's done! I actually received the newsletter which stated the cleanup date 5 days after it had taken place, too. I'll let you know the next time, which is usually in late April close to Earth Day. Thanks for your humor...I'm sure everyone gets as much of a " kick out of it " as we do. I would like to see you enter your speed boat in The Great Kennerdell Regada this next summer; I think you'd stand a very good chance at winning the grand prize. The next time you're coming into Kennerdell, you might want to grab that recliner that's sitting along the road...you'd be floating in style. |

| We had a great day for the road clean-up -- the weather was great ! ! What a great bunch of people to be affiliated with. It is amazing that the locals can not seem to get it together to do something positive for the community and the surrounding area. It takes the visitors (the people that appreciate the beauty of our environment even though they do not live here) to help maintain what God created. People that trash our natural beauty and then make excuses why they can't clean up after themselves (like the Bennett area) should be heavily fined and then maybe they would find the resources and/or the time to clean up their own eye-sore ! ! ! Some people live their whole lives procrastinating and making up phoney excuses (they must have learned this at an early age) and some people don't just sit around talking about what should be done -- they just get up off their duffs and do it (they are the successful ones in life). Anyway, I have said enough -- so I had better get moving again -- time to get off my duff -- HAVE A GOOD _______ ! ! ! |

| Just wanted to take a moment to thank Scott and Cindy for their time to help the members of ATV Traction in cleaning up the road ways in the kennerdell area. I will admit that the many hands made little work of the job that was ahead of the members of ATV Traction. I especially want to thank the younger people that were involved in cleaning up in your community. See everyone in the spring for the next clean up. Kennerdell is such a nice place with many friendly people, I have been coming to the area for almost 40 years now and enjoy it as much today as I did when I was younger. |

I would need to receive them on a CD and we could set up a section within our site that could include a bunch of thumbnails, which, when expanded, would bring them up full-screen. Might even be able to set them up as a slide show!...might be nice!! I agree 100% that something needs to be done on the other side of the bridge, but Rockland Twp, nor anybody from the town of Kennerdell can do a thing about it as far as I know. Once you cross the Kennerdell bridge, you are in Clinton Twp, not Rockland. Here is the information for the Township building.

Life is good in Wilson Park..LOL....hows New Hope Water? LOL...All the taxes those 85% city slickers pay,why can't Rockland come in and grade the roads and fix the sewers, clear the snow?We be gettin' screwed people. Well one good thing, winters about to approach and there won't be as many noisy drunkfests up at the bend....I'd like a little quiet this weekend as i'm working.....take care now, yall. Goober Out |

Best of both worlds, here...My family has owned camps from the Wilson Park, vairety to a camp alongside the Allegheny River (down river side of the bridge) to a Farm dubbed by my family the "Funny Farm" in Eau Claire. I may not have been born in Kennerdell but who can say that they were, if you were, then you must be Ancient. No hospitals in Kennerdell, PA. But I was raised, there and elsewhere (Kennerdell to Eau Claire to Clintonville to Pittsburgh) and many points, in between!
So who are the real deal "Local Yokels" here anyways? |

Wow, now this is some serious crap were talking about here. I think if someone "Landowners" were to contact ATV Traction's Venango Chapter you just might be able to get some help to clean up between Summit city road and the Kennerdell Bridge. ATV Traction cleans the road between 308 and the Summit city road twice yearly. Spring and fall. I am looking for a small piece of land myself up along the road, nothing fancy just a lot someplace to leave it as it is and just to camp on once in a while when I come up to go fishing. If any of you Land owners along the road where all the junk is would like to have a good neighbor once in a while that likes nature as it was intended drop me a line. Now lets hope we can all get this crap and oh yes, the poop :O) cleaned up. and by the way I think I would rather see a fat lady parking herself over a log than some creep throwing there garbage over the lookout where many have devoted much time to keep your area pristine and natural. raym@atvtraction.org

If we worried about everything being safe, we would all live in a Bubble!
ATVing is inherantly dangerous, each rider young or old understands this... infact many of us, live/ride for some degree of danger, it is what makes this sort of recreation, FUN!
If we rode on 100% safe trails, it would not be FUN any longer!
You might as well, pull up your Rockin Chair and go to sleep when trails become 100% safe! |

Yes the "railstotrails" project embroiled many folks for their actions and procedures.
I and many others think that the "railstotrails" project is a big waste of taxpayers funds.
Yes, it targets a niche market but not ALL. The "railstotrails" project is not unlike other governmental entities, they and their counterparts need to be at the very least, less restrictive and more conducive to ALL parts of society.

Closing our windows on a hot summer night is not fun for us, listening to your loud music until 1 oclock am is not fun either. We live here along with others that live here.We are not always off on the weekends ,when you have to get up early after being kept up all night it is not what I call a fun weekend. Why cant you come up here and have fun and show a little respect for others? Why do you have to scream at the top of your lungs? I bet they can hear you on the other mountain. I do not want to make enimies here, I show you respect so can you please do the same? |

Thanks to the efforts of Scott Vogel & ATVtraction's Venango County Chapter, the Kennerdell and Seneca Hemlock Roads are again " litter free ". A quick " touch-up " was also done at the Kennerdell Look-Out, which is now ready for the Summer Season. All in all, about 8 miles of roadway has been cleaned up. For the record, neither ATVtraction nor Misty Ridge is responsible for the 2 mile streatch immediately west of the Kennerdell Bridge...so, don't blame us for that mess and the Burke Pig Sty that you'll come across as you traverse that section of road-way. I find it amazing that certain residents who are responsible for that mess can still hold their heads high in the community, yet, at the same time create an abomination which casts a MAJOR negative " first impression " on this beautiful place we've all come to enjoy. I recently had a conversation with one of the Township Supervisors who has initiated some legal action against these persons in order to get it cleaned up...I wish them luck in their efforts! I also noticed that some ambitious volunteers took on the clean-up along the Coal City Road...congratulations to you and I'm sure I speak on everyone's behalf when offering thanks for your actions and community involvement. Isn't it amazing what major impact a few hours of work can have at improving the local environment? Another great example of " Think Globally - Act Locally ". Thanks guys from everyone in Kennerdell!! |

ATV Traction will be cleaning up Kennerdell road From 308 down to the closed bridge, then will proceed to the kennerdell side and help Scott S. with the cleanup from the Kennerdell bridge up over the top past Misty ridge over to the trail head off of Seneca Hemlock Road.
Any one that would like to come out and see what we are about and meet a few of the membership, please come on out. I think it would be a great way to meet a few of the people in your community. I do apoligize that I will not be able to make this date as I will be out of State on a previous engagement. Scott Vogel Venango Chapter President and a nice crew from ATV Traction wil be there to say hello. Watch out for the Highway cleanup crew :O) |

Hey Goober, I commend you on your fine words for the residents of Wilson Park and the ATV Issue. you are so correct about respecting the non rider. I wish there was more we could do for your community, everyone I have met over the years have been more than kind to me and the riders that were with me.
We all know that there is a bad egg in every sport and these eggs need to be singled out. several times I have been thru the Wilson park area and have noticed young kids with Atv,s doing donuts and tearing up the area around the shelter. I have stopped and watched them and noticed none had plates or registration on their machines and wondered if their parents new what they were up to.
Why would the parents of these children let them destroy the grass area around the pavilion when they themselves have worked so hard to maintain the beauty and quality of the area. We need to get the word out that under Pa's new laws that all riders under the age of 15 must have a youth training certificate from the DCNR or the ASI to ride off ones own land. The Law also states that all ATV's must be registered and Insured in Pa. Insurance is not necessary if your atv is ridden on your land but still must be registered.
The shame of the whole issue is these parents are setting themselves up for a fine by not obeying the law.
One thing for sure is there are many fine people in the Wilson park and Kennerdell area! I know, I have met many of them. Please ride safe and above all respect other people's rights everyone has the right to enjoy what they do whether it be indoors or out but please be courteous and respectful. Ray Merriman Corp. If you really want to get a pretty good rundown on what I've learned over the past 16 years, I'd be happy to speak with you over the phone. Scott, Thank you so much for your words to the community, yes, maybe I should have given my phone # and that would have sparked a responce, probably not though. Look at it this way, if any of the "local-yocals" had any interest in my original post they could have very easily mentioned, " hey, here is my #, call me about your ?'s". Sounds to me that there isnt many up there that have any concern about their towns history when an outsider is concerned enough about items in their town that might have interest to a history buff. I guess I had written that responce just to see if anyone was awake there, sounds like I woke up the sleeping dog, heehee. Again, Scott, thank you for calming things down, sounds like you are the only civilized person there, wish there was more like you. |

I’d love to respond to every inquiry that comes across this board where I have something to add, but I simply don’t have the time to be writing one epistle after another. Although I agree that Chriscraft deserves a better response than what he’d gotten, bottom line, he may have gotten a better response had he provided a phone number. I would be delighted to provide all the details that I know, but when a gentleman writes a 2 minute post that requires an hours worth of time to respond, I have look at the “ value analysis “ and make the correct decision. Chris…I have some of the history, so, if you’re truly interested, feel free to give me a call. 724-981-5444 x-317 ( 7A-4P ) or 814-498-2070 ( after 5P ). Just for the record, I’m from Chicago, so my knowledge on the subject will be somewhat limited, although still better than most. It’s too bad that one of the ole' local-yokels won’t take the time out of their “ busy “ days to respond. It's pretty sad when the history of the Kennerdell tunnel has to come from someone from Chicago. Please don’t shoot me…I’m only the “ enabler “.

Can I just say one thing? Looking over the page I see that " Chriscraft posted a message about the tunnels and no responce from any of you "locals" could even help her or him out but yet let them reply to you guys as they did and the whole town jumps on them. Sounds to me maybe you guys dont even know about where you live or anything about it's history. Ohhhh, one more thing, I didnt check the spelllling before I sent this. LOL

I really get a kick out of this community page!!...What a hoot! But, given the fact that my spelling is sometimes not the best either, I find that I can make myself look a little less " hickish " if I draft my posts in MS Word and then,...after a spell-check, do a " cut & paste " into the Community Page posting window. These posts also have a strict limit of 2000 characters ( including spaces ), so, you can also use the " Word Count “ feature which is found under the " tool " section in MS Word. This will save you a big hassle of re-editing after the post has been rejected for being too “ wordy “.
If you follow these couple of tips…your future postings will make you APPEAR to be an unbridled genius…LOL

Wrathe, I would almost be willing to make a bet on who you are, I do not care to divulge your name nor will I. I feel that if you want anyone to know who you are that is up to you and not for me to make the decision. I did in no way intend to make you feel embarrased about your anonymity. I have always felt that when posts are made the readers should know who the person behind the post is. everyone needs to learn to be more honest and more upfront about there feelings. the world will be better for all if this were the case. seems we all hear the story of who done what but it always comes thru the grapevine in the same method, someone always hides behind there "secret name" . I sure miss the good ol'e days when you new your neighbor and everyone was welcome to your house and there were no conditions, it was pure friendship and love for your neighbor. I remember when I was a child and asked my father one time why there was an X carved on our front steps, he explained to me that this is where a traveler or "Hobo" I guess they called them could get a free meal if they were hungry while traveling thru our neighbor hood. since we lived very close to the railroad yards in Conway pa. when I was a young boy many strangers visited our back porch for a meal and I can't ever remember my father turning one away. The traveler before them carved the X and my parents always made sure there was enough to feed the stranger when they knocked on the door. The X was still there until they tore down the house about 20 years ago but my father was long gone before that.
As always ATV Traction is here to help our friends in the Kennerdell area. Just let us know what we can do to help. Ray Merriman Corp. Vice President ATV Traction Inc. raym@atvtraction.org

I wish to thank all the gracious Land owners that let ATV Traction enter upon their lands. with out you, we would have nothing! it would be nice to let all of you know that the trails we use we maintain and indeed respect our gracious landowners.

Message to "WRATHE" - I have no idea who you are and you have no idea who I am, but, for whatever it's worth, I'd like to thank you for your posts and your involvement in trying to help manage the fragile situation that exists between good ATVers, bad ATVers and landowners in Kennerdell. We have a very good thing going here in Kennerdell and we cannot let it slip away; it makes Kennerdell what it is and has been the biggest driver to quality growth in the community. The improvements we've all seen over the past few years have come as a direct result of folks like you who are vocal, authoritative, "take-charge" and definitive as to your group's expectations of other's conduct, and, without people like you (and me), it would all fall apart and we could certainly lose access to the vast openness that draws all of us here.
I know it's easy to be abrupt and quick-fingered, sometimes, when responding to various posts that appears on this page from time to time, however, it all boils down to the intent of the actions and writings. I'm glad there are others, like you, helping to preserve the sport, define the expectations and to identify and quarantine the bad apples; there are not that many of them and we now know who most of them are. We are doing the same and we have always had excellent support from ALL associated landowners. They are appreciative of our presence and involvement. KEEP IT UP, MY FRIEND and let's keep this good thing going!! Spring is coming and it's ALMOST time to ride and have some fun!
Final note...I think you ought to get together with Pastor Bobbie and show her around the area via ATV. I'm sure there are many beautiful nooks and crannies that she might be interested in learning how to get to. I've never met the gal, myself, but she sounds like the kind of girl who deserves a key to the community. |

| recently discovering Kennerdale, beautiful place you guys have there, I am from Kittanning and never been to Kennerdale until the first of this year. I am an old railroad tunnel buff I guess you would call it. I explored the kennerdale and Rockton tunnels, I noticed the Rockton tunnel has a headstone of 1915, I didnt see one for the Kennerdale tunnel. Does anyone know if there is any historic records of theose tunnels when they were built, how long it took to build them. I realize that back then it was a nessesity more than documenting them for someone to look back on 100 years later. I am just amazed at how 100 years ago something like that could be built, back before GPS's, and electric lights and deisel engines. If anyone has any leads or any information on this I would really appriciate. Thank you very much, OH, by the way, you guys really have a wonderful community up there, something to be proud of. Thanks again. |

Hey y'all
Did you ever think to maybe get some volunteer help from Clubs or Organizations such as ATV Traction...I am sure if you put your heads together and stop all of your whining and common complaining, you can get many of those pesky potholes repaired, in a New York Minute & by a Country Mile!
See the way I see it, most WP Residents complain about the ATV Riders and so forth, but if you would come to a Tracttion Meeting from time to time and if you ask us for some help, I am sure that you can and will find that Us ATV'ers are not all bad.
Traction's Chapters are always seeking ways to try and shed some of the negative light, that others create for us...Think about it, formulate a plan, and take it up with your local Chapter. In reference from the an above statement, if Traction and equal Members of WP come together for a common goal, many things can be accomplished.
We have proved it, time and time again...and WP can too! |

| We are wp residents. Every year we {my husband and children and myself} get out there with our shovels and fill in potholes ,dig out the ditches and plow the roads. Some of you just drive by and wave. How nice of you. And how dare you complain about the roads when not one of you will lift a finger to help. you sure do use your fingers to type up a complaint on here though. Filling in potholes does not cost a dime and it sure does help. If we all would fill in 1 or 2 the road would be better, not perfect but definitly better. One person can not do it all themselves.Lets get together and plan a work day. we could accompish alot and maybe have a little fun doing it.Maybe we could have a Wilson Park Yard sale and use the money for materials. |

Cherry popped this: " both Long-Road and Short-Road feel their real estate values would improve, but neither feels any obligation to pay there fair share to make it happen!"
They must be Democrats!
I think public transportation should be available for WP camp owners and guests to get to Walmart. I think this should be free also. Raise the rich peoples taxes! Maybe I'm a Democrat? |

| Humorous reading the posts concerning Wilson Park Interstate System…LOL! Basically, we have 2 opposing views on road usage, but, one common conclusion… both Long-Road and Short-Road feel their real estate values would improve, but neither feels any obligation to pay there fair share to make it happen! Well, here’s my 2 cents. I like the country-life and the Wilson Park Interstate System serves my purpose just fine. I got a 4 WD PU truck, have a property that’s about ½ way into the park, I do come up pretty regularly, but, I enjoy the peace & quiet of winter once the ATV idiots have gone into hibernation AND, I don’t care about the condition of the highway. Annually, I do some basic road maintenance in front of my place, but there is no stone left on the road, so, my idea of annual maintenance is throwing a few shovels of mud into my hole and dropping a big rock right on top of it just like a Cherry on a sundae. This approach works great for me…good to go for another year! As far as paying for YOUR improvements, I will not spend one thin dime on the roadway, so, please spend my 2 cents wisely…it’s all you’ll be getting. |

| We have a camp, which is in upper WP and we have about the longest, bumpiest ride back to our place that anyone could possibly imagine. I’d like to see the road improved because I also believe it would improve our property values, but I don’t think it’s fair that I should have to pay the same amount as those who visit the area frequently. We only use our camp 1 or 2 times per year, and even though we use more of the roadway to get to our camp, the number of miles we actually drive on it over the course of a year would be significantly less than those who live near the entrance, but use their property most every weekend. |

| I have a camp which is very close to the entry of Wilson Park and, although I would like to see the road improved in hopes that it would improve value of my property, I do not feel as though I should have to pay the same amount as those who live at the end of the road, due to the fact that I use a lot less of it. We spend as many weekends as we can in Wilson Park and really love the area, but the road is a major negative for our community. |

| I would be happy to fix the road! Please let me know the specific areas where you'd like to see improvement and the budget you have to work with. WP has needed road improvements for decades and it is not going to be cheap. Do you have any funds in your road fund? The last time I'd inquired as to the financial viability of the WP road fund, I was told they were approaching the $20 level. I'm figuring this will take care of 1 mid-sized pot-hole. Do you have a specific pot-hole in mind once we get started? |

| Can someone please assign me an IQ number? God tells me that Darwin may be on to something. The stupid ones don't survive long with ATV's, alcohol, & dope weeding them out of the gene pool. |
